Anees Joubran

P: 713.588.0446

Anees Joubran (or AJ) is a member of SBSB Eastham’s Defense Base Act practice group. Prior to joining the firm, he served as a legal clerk handling matters related to international business, whistleblower law, and white-collar crime.

A first-generation Lebanese American (his grandfather opened the first Lebanese bakery in Houston), Anees’s background has helped him to be more culturally aware, with an ability to quickly connect with those from different backgrounds or with different points of view. That ability is hugely important to his work, as it allows him to quickly get to the heart of a matter and find a resolution for those he represents.

Anees completed his undergraduate studies at Texas A&M University, where he was also a member of the Corps of Cadets. There, he learned to treat each new situation he found himself in as a learning experience. Even when the outcome was unexpected or not what he hoped for, he knew there was something to be learned that would help him the next time, and the time after that. It’s a lesson that’s taught him to work harder and to open his mind to new possibilities.

Outside the office, Anees loves to grill and barbeque for his friends and family. When his schedule allows, you can often find him reading or outside playing basketball.
