Ashley Eaves began her career teaching high school science in east Texas. She loved the environment and being able to work with students, but after a number of years felt a desire to help effect change on a different level. She went on to work as a toxicology technologist before attending law school. While there, she interned with the Harris County Attorney’s Office as part of the Environmental Practice Group. Since then, she’s gained experience in several areas of the law, including family law, probate, estate planning, and elder law. She now brings that experience to her position as part of SBSB Eastham’s Defense Base Act practice.
Ashley’s scientific background has taught her to be analytical, with a meticulous attention to detail. Years spent in public education has given her the ability to relay complex information in ways that are easy to understand. This helps her to connect, not only with her clients, but those she must convince on their behalf. She is also skilled at working with large groups made up of different personalities, even in instances when those personalities come into conflict with one another.
Ashley studied Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at Stephen F. Austin State University before attending South Texas College of Law Houston. There, she received her Mediation Certification, as well as the CALI Award for Excellence for taking the top grade in the Fall 2021 Insurance Law Seminar. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, visiting her native Galveston, watching Astros baseball, and although the opportunity doesn’t present itself as often as she’d like, deep sea fishing.
