Candace Ourso

Candace Ourso is a Gulf Coast native and the daughter of a career marine insurance claims adjuster who introduced her to the insurance and legal industries at a very early age. She followed her maritime roots and found a home among some of Houston’s most well-respected and successful trial lawyers. She soon expanded into the offshore energy sector. Her familiarity with the maritime and energy industries has shaped her holistic approach to solving problems by carefully listening and evaluating the individual needs of her clients, and responsibly finding best-fit solutions to their challenges.

Her practice focuses on a variety of complex marine and energy insurance coverage issues involving domestic and foreign insurers; energy-related subrogation matters; admiralty, maritime and energy cases; mass casualty and claims; and excess-liability coverage disputes.

To date, Candace has represented clients on hundreds of maritime and energy coverage matters, including commercial and marine liabilities, operator’s extra expense, builders risk, specialty drilling equipment, pollution and political risk.

Every path to resolution is different, and Candace knows that each case will not be solved in the same way as the last. In her words; “Pay attention to the people around you. Learn from them.
