Carmen Barba

Carmen Barba is an associate in SBSB Eastham’s Houston office and a member of the firm’s Defense Base Act practice group. Since arriving to the firm in May 2020, she has prided herself on being a steady guide for her clients in seeking a case resolution. Her stewardship has extended to her role within the firm, where she has assisted in overseeing the firm’s Summer Associate program in 2023 and 2024.

Carmen earned a bachelor’s degree from Florida International University before pursuing and obtaining her Juris Doctorate degree from the Thurgood Marshall School of Law. While there, she maintained a heavy presence in Moot Court competitions, representing her bench in cities including Dallas and New York.

A native of Colombia, Carmen has maintained fluency in Spanish and a connection to Colombian culture despite living in the United States for most of her life. This innate link to dual cultures contributes to an inclusive nature when working with clients and makes her an asset to those she represents.
