Connor O’Brien is an associate in SBSB Eastham’s New Orleans office. A member of the firm’s Defense Base Act group, he arrived at the firm in August 2024 after spending a year in civil defense focusing mainly on medical malpractice and workers’ compensation matters. Prior to this, he clerked for the Honorable Judge Michael Pitman and the Honorable Judge Katherine Dorroh at the First Judicial District Court in Shreveport, Louisiana.

A native of Michigan, Connor earned a bachelor’s degree in creative writing from Saginaw Valley State University. He moved south in 2019 to attend law school at the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at Louisiana State University, and in 2022, he graduated with his Juris Doctorate and a Master of Laws degree with a Graduate Certificate in energy law and policy. While in law school, he provided leadership as president of the Student Bar Association Athletics Committee and team leader of the Space Law Moot Court.

Connor is admitted to the State Bar of Louisiana and is licensed to practice in all Louisiana state courts. He also maintains membership in the Krewe of Justinian, a Mardi Gras krewe sponsored by the Shreveport Bar Association that aims to build relationships in the area’s legal community.
