David Cooper

David Cooper is an associate in SBSB Eastham’s Chicago office and is a member of the firm’s Defense Base Act group. A native Ohioan, his career in law began with time spent clerking for a firm specializing in complex commercial litigation. While in this role, he also gained valuable plaintiff’s side experience in the realm of employment law and became certified as a mediator through the Cook County Circuit Court.

David graduated from Chicago-Kent College of Law – Illinois Institute of Technology in 2022. Following law school, he spent time working at the Cook County Public Guardian’s office, representing vulnerable children as both their attorney and as Guardian Ad Litem. Before arriving at SBSB Eastham in May 2024, he spent time at a firm primarily focusing on Illinois workers’ compensation and Section 1983 civil rights defense.

David is admitted to the Illinois State Bar Association and is licensed to practice in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. With experience on both sides of the aisle, he is a versatile and reliable asset in the courtroom.
