Dimitri Vaynshteyn joins SBSB Eastham with extensive experience in a wide variety of areas. As an attorney, he’s handled corporate and business matters from formation through wind-up, including regulatory compliance, contracts, mergers and acquisitions, and business dealing. He served as both in-house counsel and chief operations officer for a start-up real-estate development firm. As a legislative attorney for the District of Columbia Council, he wrote bills that became laws and coordinated with all offices of the Washington DC government and special interest groups on proposed legislation. He also worked in the Office of the General Council and Office of Procurement and Financial Assistance at the United States Department of Energy.

This experience has made Dimitri a strong addition to SBSB Eastham’s Defense Base Act and Longshore and Harbor Workers’ practice groups. Diligent and committed, Dimitri considers his main job to be that of a problem-solver. As such, he’s not interested in simply plugging and playing different parts of the law each time someone comes to him with an issue. Instead, he takes a fine-tooth approach, examining the details and piecing things together until he’s developed a creative solution that accomplishes his clients’ goals and leaves them satisfied.

Dimitri is a born Houstonian who spent much of his teen years growing up in both Russia and England and has come to greatly appreciate different cultures. This appreciation has become a passion, as Dimitri loves travelling to new cities, admiring the architecture, trying new foods, and getting to know its people. Dimitri is also an avid scuba diver and plans to earn his pilot license. At home, he enjoys spending time with friends and family.
