Doug Wheat is a partner in SBSB Eastham’s Houston office. A trial lawyer with nearly 40 years of experience representing clients, Doug has handled a wide variety of litigation matters, including product defects, trucking accidents, manufacturing incidents, offshore casualties, and commercial disputes. He advises on disputes involving product liability cases, trucking and other motor vehicle accidents, industrial accidents, manufacturing issues, construction, toxic torts, and all types of personal injury cases. Doug routinely represents vessel owners and other maritime employers regarding matters arising out of stevedoring and terminal operations, Jones Act, collision/allision, cargo damage and contract disputes. Doug also handles a broad range of energy related cases and matters relating to onshore and offshore production and transmission. He advises clients on a variety of business issues such as contracts (including indemnity and insurance provisions), warranties and risk management concerns.

Doug’s practice is centered primarily in Texas and Louisiana, but he handles cases all along the Gulf Coast. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas, Louisiana State Bar Association, United States Supreme Court, United States Courts of Appeals for the Fourth, Fifth, and Eleventh Circuit, United States Court of Claims, and all United States District Courts in Louisiana and Texas.
