Ellen Hodes

Associate / Chicago

P: 312.690.5556

Ellen Hodes was interested in a career in law long before she actually made the decision to attend law school. She was interested in the different people she would work with and the settings she would work in. She was interested in conflict resolution as well as seeing an issue through from start to finish. She was also interested in the many opportunities being a lawyer would give her to help others.

Ellen is a member of the firm’s Defense Base Act practice group. Her previous experience includes matters related to respondeat superior liability, medical malpractice defense, premises liability, insurance defense, and prisoner litigation defense in Cook County. She also served as a law clerk for Cook County’s Office of the Public Guardian, working on guardian ad litem appointments.

Regardless of the case she’s handling, Ellen finds a way to bond with those she represents. To let them know there’s someone focused on their issues who’s committed to fighting for them. She puts in the work, digging into the case background so that the strategy she presents her clients is as strong as possible.

Ellen comes to Chicago from Kansas City. In her free time, she enjoys cheering on the Chiefs, swimming, and spending time with her dog, Leo.
