Ellen Hodes

Ellen Hodes is an associate in SBSB Eastham’s Chicago office. Originally from Kansas City, she joined the firm in August 2023 after gaining experience in matters including respondeat superior liability, medical malpractice defense, premises liability, insurance defense and prisoner litigation defense in Cook County, Illinois. Additionally, she served as a law clerk for the county’s Office of the Public Guardian, working on guardian ad litem appointments.

A member of SBSB Eastham’s Defense Base Act practice group, Ellen earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Kansas in 2019. Following this, she pursued a law degree and earned her Juris Doctorate from DePaul University College of Law in 2023. While in law school, she served at the college’s Criminal Appeals Clinic.

Ellen is admitted to the Illinois State Bar Association. With a rich background in public advocacy and experience with conflict resolution, she is adept at finding a way to bond with her clients and presenting them in a strong manner.
