P: 713.588.0446

Govindi Munasinghe is a native of Sri Lanka, with a large family and relatives both in Texas as well as the island nation. That emphasis on family is one reason she was attracted to SBSB Eastham, where she has been welcomed by colleagues willing to provide all the support and resources needed to help her thrive and succeed for her clients.

Govindi grew up in the Clear Lake area of Houston, and received her undergraduate degree at The University of Texas at Dallas before returning to Houston for law school. At the South Texas College of Law, she excelled in national trial and moot court competitions and served as chair of the school’s Board of Advocates from 2021-2022 and received the Dean’s Student Advocacy Service Award.

After taking the Bar exam, she served as a Fred Parks Advocacy Fellow, helping to oversee and coordinate the advocacy courses at the school. During law school she gained valuable experience as an intern with Nationwide Insurance’s trial division, the Fort Bend County District Attorney’s Office, and the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Texas.

Govindi chose to remain in Houston to begin her legal career, where she can remain close to her family and enjoy the vibrant and diverse experiences the city has to offer.
