John Hathorn

John Hathorn is an associate in SBSB Eastham’s Houston office. A native of the city, the first-generation attorney serves as a member of the firm’s Defense Base Act practice group. Prior to joining the firm in November 2024, he gained experience clerking in firms dealing with immigration law, probate, estate planning and personal injury law. Additionally, he maintains a Texas Mediator’s Certificate.

John’s academic career kept him close to home; as an undergraduate, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering from Louisiana State University. Following this, he returned to Houston and earned his Juris Doctorate from South Texas College of Law. While in law school, he was named a Presidential Fellow and earned a CALI Award for having the highest grade in his class in patent law and torts.

John is admitted to the State Bar of Texas. With a diverse knowledge base both within the bounds of the legal space and beyond, he offers a helpful hand to those he serves.
