John Schwambach has extensive experience working on complex civil matters in state and federal courts at the trial and appellate levels. He has briefed and argued many appeals and mandamus proceedings before Texas appellate courts, including the Texas Supreme Court. John has also briefed and argued numerous pre-trial motions in state and federal courts on various complex issues, including personal jurisdiction, forum non conveniens, venue, choice of law, and challenges to expert testimony. Trial lawyers have often involved John to prepare the jury charge, ensure preservation of error, and assist with other difficult issues of analysis and strategy that typically arise during trial.
A graduate of Yale University, where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree, and the University of Texas School of Law, where he received his Juris Doctorate, John has built a career over nearly three decades that has provided deep experience on both sides of the courtroom. Prior to joining SBSB, John was a plaintiffs’ attorney for many years, and, as a result, offers unique insight into how opposing counsel develops strategy and prepares for trial.
