Since she was a child, Josephine Mares knew that, one day, she’d become an attorney. Exactly how that would play out, however, came as a total surprise to her. After graduating high school, Josephine was recruited to play softball by Babson College School of Business in Babson Park, Massachusetts. It was an amazing experience that led to her applying to law school and being accepted by South Texas College of Law Houston.

While in law school, Josephine worked as a law clerk with several firms in the Houston area where she had the opportunity to conduct research and analysis in several areas. She became especially interested in Construction Law and the sheer number of issues it encompassed. She now brings that experience to SBSB Eastham’s Defense Base Act practice.

Josephine understands the importance of teamwork and brings that attitude to her work at SBSB Eastham. Her coworkers know her as a skilled communicator and someone willing to go the extra mile for her clients and who is always willing to pitch in when someone is working on a complex issue and in need of an extra set of hands.

Josephine is a Houston native and in her spare time enjoys cheering on the Astros, running marathons, and traveling.
