Karl Francois

Karl Jeff Francois is an associate in SBSB Eastham’s Boca Raton office. A member of the firm’s Defense Base Act practice group, he originally joined its bench in June 2022 before gaining further practice experience elsewhere and ultimately returning in May 2025.

Prior to attending the University of Miami School of Law, Karl’s first exposure to the law involved working at an estate planning firm. Fueled with a passion for justice and oral advocacy, he interned for the Miami Dade Public Defender’s Office during his 1L year at Miami. He later went on to work in the University of Miami School of Law Immigration Clinic, where he learned even further the difference a passionate attorney could make in a person’s life.

When someone is seeking legal assistance, Karl understands what’s potentially at stake for them and endeavors to learn all he can about a case, knowing that the smallest piece of information can help him achieve a favorable outcome on their behalf. Those who have worked with him often remark on his comprehensive research and legal writing skills.

Karl is admitted to The Florida Bar and is fluent in French and Haitian Creole. Prior to earning his law degree from Miami, he studied history and economics at Florida International University. When not in the office, he enjoys running, traveling and watching sports.
