Lila Kopplin is a member of SBSB Eastham’s Defense Base Act practice group. Before joining the firm, she gained extensive experience in federal litigation and defense work. She formerly clerked in the Housing Division of Southeast Louisiana Legal Services, and interned at Equality Ohio in Cleveland, an organization which advocates for LGBTQ issues.

Lila studied East Asian Studies at Smith College, a women’s school in Northampton, Massachusetts. This was a time in her life Lila considers to be especially important, as it taught her confidence and to be sure in the things she was saying. Lila knew she wanted to be an attorney since she was in the seventh grade, when she and one of her best friends promised each other they would both attend law school. Unlike many plans individuals make at such a young age, this was one Lila fulfilled when she was admitted to Tulane University Law School in New Orleans.

For Lila, preparation is everything. She understands that only when all the details are seen to, is one less likely to misstep later in the process. Lila’s previous experience has allowed her to work and gain a strong familiarity with each step of the litigation process. This ensures that, regardless of what’s needed, she’s able to hit the ground running.

Outside the office, Lila likes to travel and spend time with her Border Collie mix, Clio.
