One of Luke Downing’s strengths is identifying the elements that can make or break a case early on and using that to his client’s advantage. This can be a key factor in finding the strategy that will get his client the best outcome. While he may be able to drill down and find those pieces that can give him an early lead, he always has his eye on the big picture and moving the case in the right direction.

Luke has a broad range of experience, from complex commercial litigation to commercial transactions, bringing it all together for his clients at SBSB. Luke dedicates a large portion of his practice to defending Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act and the Defense Base Act and seeking reimbursements for his clients under the War Hazards Compensation Act. He also has experience in hospitality law, helping restaurant clients with business formation, administrative matters and dealing with city or county regulations and citations – everything from transactional to litigation.

Luke’s success in such a wide range of practice areas comes from his dedication to the practice and his recognition that to be successful and best serve his clients, he needs to constantly challenge himself intellectually.
