Michael McAlpine is an expert general litigator in both state and federal courts, known for his effective and efficient approach to litigation at every level. He has analyzed difficult problems and delivered successful solutions in jurisdictions all across the country. These successes are often the result of studying the broader scope of the law first, and then its intricacies, learned from years of experience. When asked to define the meaning of depth in his areas of expertise, Michael notes, “Depth means to have broad experience, both practical and legal, and an awareness of how that experience applies to these particular facts. The law is just one of many considerations in any real dispute.”

Michael brings to his practice a rich background in admiralty, casualty litigation focused on trial work involving personal injury, collision, and contractual issues. He grew up in New Orleans, a great port city, and developed a love for the energy of that port and its connection with the oil and gas industry on shore and off. His career reflects that passion and that background.

Michael is active in the legal community and is a member of many organizations. He is a frequent speaker at CLE and similar seminars and conferences, and he has been listed by Super Lawyers as a Top-Rated Transportation and Maritime Attorney in New Orleans.
