Mithran Kumaran

Mithran Kumaran is an associate in SBSB Eastham’s Chicago office. Prior to joining the firm’s Defense Base Act practice group in July 2025, he spent time on a diverse set of litigation matters ranging from workers’ compensation claims to high-stakes contract disputes and issues surrounding property and tax rates.

Mithran moved to the United States at the age of 18 to pursue higher education. As an undergraduate, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a specialization in Marketing from The Ohio State University. He would go on to earn his Juris Doctor from the University of Illinois College of Law in 2024, during which time he would complete the process of becoming a U.S. citizen.

Mithran is admitted to the Illinois State Bar Association and has been lauded for his legal writing. His personal and professional history is one marked by the constant pursuit of more.
