Shelly Hale is a member of SBSB Eastham’s Defense Base Act team. Before pursuing a career as an attorney, she worked in information technology, doing software training and development. She also worked in human resources information systems and legal marketing. This experience sparked an interest in the law that would eventually lead to her current profession.
Shelly attended Loyola University New Orleans College of Law. Since graduating, she has gained extensive experience in a wide variety of legal matters. These include handling delinquency cases, status offenses, and cases of child abuse and neglect as an Assistant District Attorney in Jefferson Parish, Louisiana. As an associate attorney in New Orleans, she handled insurance litigation stemming from property casualty claims. She was involved in multi-district and class-action litigation surrounding the 2010 Deepwater Horizon oil spill. She most recently worked as General Counsel for a healthcare company in Metairie, Louisiana, handling revenue cycles and other employment law matters. The breadth of Shelly’s experience speaks to her desire to continually challenge herself and learn new things. For her clients, it means a perspective and ability to think outside the box in a way that not all attorneys are able to offer.
Those who have worked with her often remark on how client-focused Shelly is, as well as her ability to put those she represents at ease. She is passionate about their causes and understands the importance of open, honest communication and being available to speak when she’s needed. She has long held to a policy of returning all client calls the day she receives them. In short, those Shelly works with know they’re being looked after.
When not in the office, Shelly enjoys spending time with her family, sports photography, and traveling.
