Yolando Hewling

When she’s able to travel, which is one of her passions, Yolando Hewling’s favorite place so far has been Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The juxtaposition of the dessert with the water, the futuristic architecture of new Dubai with the traditional culture of old Dubai – the duality of it – appeals to her.

When you get to know Yolando, that makes sense. She has focused her career on workers compensation cases for 15 years. At SBSB, she defends against those cases passionately. But for many of those years, she was on the plaintiff’s side, working just as energetically to represent her clients to achieve fair compensation.

Yolando fights zealously for her clients. When she gets a case, she wants to know what the facts of the case are, not focused on one side or the other. Then she pivots to strategize how to prove what happened and make the case with her client’s end goal in mind. This ability to look at the big picture and see both sides first, then home in on her particular argument, is one of the most potent characteristics that make her an effective advocate for her clients.
