SBSB Eastham is seeking an associate attorney to fulfill the following responsibilities:

  • Responsible for docket involving Defense Base Act claims by providing sound legal analysis, drafting petitions and communicating with clients, Department of Labor and opposing counsel in a timely manner.
  • Review, analyze and summarize claims documents including medical records, incident reports, and employment files.
  • Prepare reports for clients as needed and on schedule.
  • Participate in conferences with the Department of Labor to address issues pertinent to the resolution of files.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely with clients on issues involving Defense Base Act and War Hazards Compensation Act.
  • Experience drafting pleads, discovery and motions, making court appearances, and taking/defending depositions.
  • MUST be committed to teamwork and cooperation with your team of fellow lawyers while working on everyday tasks.
  • Must possess excellent legal research and writing skills, a strong ability to think strategically/analytically, and outstanding communication skills.
