In an emphatic start to 2026, SBSB Eastham Dallas partner Rasha Zeyadeh and Corpus Christi partner Don Jones secured a victory on behalf of firm clients in the 36th Judicial District Court of Aransas County, Texas.
District Judge Starr Bauer ruled that the Plaintiff, an independent contractor serving as IT Director for Rasha’s clients, improperly asserted a Mechanic’s and Materialman’s Lien against the clients’ property. The Court held that the Plaintiff does not fall within any statutory category of individuals entitled to a Mechanic’s, Contractor’s or Materialman’s Lien and that they failed to provide the required notice of the filed lien affidavit under Section 53.055 of the Texas Property Code.
Ms. Zeyadeh said the case represents “A great outcome for our clients and a solid way to begin the year.”
